Yes, it's a _much_ bigger problem than generally realized. 1. No Java Plug-in = no Java 2 for browsers 2. No Java 2 for browsers = no Java 3D for browsers 3. No Java 3D for browsers = no 3D for the Web We could have a big discussion about this last point, including why VRML has not/will not succeed, and why Java 3D will _IFF_ browsers would incorporate it. However, this is not the forum for such a discussion. Suffice it to say attitudes that downplay the importance of Java Plug-in do not help. Fortunately, Sun realizes the importance of Java Plug-in. Their current lawsuit against MS is almost totally for the purpose of ensuring Java Plug-in continues to work with IE (which due to the MS desktop monopoly currently has 80% of the browser marketshare).
