hi, as it seems, my problem wasn't with the original .deb's being corrupted. I downloaded the basedebs.tar, gzipped it to basedebs.tgz and tried to install. It appears the gunzip is reporting crc errors and it's totally random. It isn't caused by network, I copied a plain tar to target and tested it with no problems.
So ... could it be some bug or is the 7500 dead? The latter doesn't seem likely, it used to work fine. using current disks from woody. TIA, Mart
