If you are going to make a kernel package for presonal or unofficial use, simply change into whatever source tree you want and do a `make-kpkg kernel-image'. If you are going to upload your packages, however, they will need to include source. In order to avoid replicating nearly the whole kernel source tree in the archives, you should depend on the generic kernel-source package and the various patch packages for building. For more information, RTFS of a few kernel-image packages, there are various ways of doing this. As far as packages based on the BenH tree alone are concerned, I refrained from doing them because there already are powerpc kernel packages, and the differences could be expected to be relatively small. I chose to use both the XFS and the BenH patch instead, because this really adds functionality. Regards, Jens. -- J'qbpbe, le m'en fquz pe j'qbpbe!
