Hi Dabowl, first of all, that should probably be discussed on xine-user rather than here, as there are both xine specialists and xine/ppc users there. Moreover, that doesn't look very ppc specific to me...

You have three options here: 1) switch to a video mode that needs less ressources (smaller resolution and/or less color depth) 2) try XShm output (command line option "-V XShm", will be sloooow) 3) get more video memory (probably means new graphics card) > I try with the 1024x768 mode but i get the same error, my card is a ATI > Rage 128 with 16 MByte memory. Those should work fine with XFree86 (>= 4.1). > In the DVD HOWTO, they talk about MTRR what is that, do i need this ? Not on ppc, as it's an ia32 specific MMU extension. I have been told, however, that XFree86 4.2 comes with some Xv improvements for the r128 that use DMA to transfer the actual video, which might (or might not) result in a performance boost similar to MTRR. Anyway, that won't help you as your problem is something totally different... Maybe you could try to use "xine-bugreport" to produce a bugreport that contains more information about your system?
