Well, it's going to consume _some_ power, but most USB mice pull a bit
under 100 mA at 5 volts, which works out to about 1/2 watt. I've used USB
mice with the iBook I've been using, and they don't seem to make a
noticable dent in its typical ~4-hour charge life. So, I'd say that it
won't be particularly visible on the PowerBook G4 either - you already
have a more power-hungry CPU and a larger display drawing power, so I
don't think one little USB mouse is going to make a big difference to you.
