I have updated to the latest benh kernel and get this WRT to the video
system:

aty128fb: Rage Mobility M3 (AGP) [chip rev 0x0] 8M 128-bit SDR SGRAM (1:1)
Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 128x48
Registered "ati" backlight controller, level: 14/15
fb0: ATY Rage128 frame buffer device on PCI
no framebuffer address found for /[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ATY,[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ATY,RageM3p12B

but m3mirror still does not work:

Well, I have a first gen TiBook (400Mhz), and m3mirror *does* work for me. I get *almost* the same output from dmesg:

aty128fb: Rage Mobility M3 (AGP) [chip rev 0x0] 8M 128-bit SDR SGRAM (1:1)
Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 144x48
Registered "ati" backlight controller, level: 12/15
fb0: ATY Rage128 frame buffer device on PCI
no framebuffer address found for /[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ATY,[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ATY,RageM3p12B

I notice the size of the console differs, but I don't see how that could make a difference. My kernel is 2.4.10-pre8-ben0 compiled Sep 17 20:05:42 PDT 2001. I'm planning to update to bens latest soon (probably this weekend) and I'll make sure to test m3mirror to see if it still works.
