hi all, i'm compiling the linux-2.4.17-pre2-ben0 kernel, and in the gcc command i see -msoft-float... like this gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/usr/src/linux-benh/include -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -Wno-trigraphs -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-strict-aliasing -fno-common -D__powerpc__ -fsigned-char -msoft-float -pipe -ffixed-r2 -Wno-uninitialized -mmultiple -mstring -c -o pe2.o pe2.c why gcc compiles the kernel with this option? i have a pismo, and kernel settings are: # # Platform support # CONFIG_PPC=y CONFIG_PPC32=y CONFIG_6xx=y # CONFIG_4xx is not set # CONFIG_POWER3 is not set # CONFIG_POWER4 is not set # CONFIG_8xx is not set # CONFIG_8260 is not set in .config and there are no references to soft-floats in the main Makefile is everything ok? TIA Ivan
