I do hope this is a ppc problem. After going through the archives I could not find a reference to my problem so here goes.
If you could read through this and give me a hint of what is going wrong, It would be much appreciated. I have : ibook2 Debian Linux 2.2 for ppc kernel 2.4.12-benh devfs running well All is running sweetly but now I would like to install (upgrade to) XFree4.1.0 Got the source code and compiled using gcc and linked with ld (I know not recommened but no problem there) During comilation I got one error in some wacom device driver. Since I will not be using it, I got rid of the error so the compile ends with no errors INstalled just fine I did no tuning in any of the makefiles or configuration files. I compiled the r128.o driver by compiling it in its directory with the command: make -f Makefile.linux r128.o The made sure X will find the driver when starting. But when the driver is loaded, and used I get an error ... (II) LoadModule: "r128" (II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/r128.o Not loading .modinfo Not loading .vtop_fixup Not loading .rela.vtop_fixup (EE) LoadModule: Module r128 does not have a r128ModuleData data object. (II) UnloadModule: "r128" (II) Unloading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/r128.o (EE) Failed to load module "r128" (invalid module, 0) ... any thoughts of what may be going on?
