yeah. someone had suggested turning them on to me, and when i did things started working. i didnt know why (since they had been broken for months on end), since there werent any modules that cooincided with powerpc hardware, but it must just have been good timing with a kernel & xmms in sid that fixed things. there was a patch for 2.4.0 iirc, but that didnt work when i tried it. plus, it was 2.4.0 :) john -- john wood systems administrator, gmo inc
