Well, my main concen is with the support for mac serial ports in linux. I can't even get the mac to send a file to itself reliably, the flow control doesn't seem to work so the file is full of holes and i get input overrun errors.

That was with Mac OS, not linux (which won't run on the > LC), but it does indicate even old Mac serial ports are capable of doing > at least halfway decent speeds.
