I'm fairly new at this, having come to Debian in the last month or so after using LinuxPPC 1999 very intermittently for a while now. (I would still consider myself a relative newbie!) I've been attempting to upgrade to Woody over a fresh installation of Potato r3 on my 7600/200. (I'm keen to try using the newer version of Bluefish for some amateur WML development.)
I've managed to download all of the .deb files by using apt-get dist-upgrade (after using apt-get update, naturally). Problem comes just after the packages are scanned, when I get the following error messages (transcribed): 100% [Scanning packages] Template parse error near "" at /usr/lib/perl5/Debian/Debconf/Template.pm line 60, <Template> chunk 3 E: Sub-process /usr/sbin/dpkg-preconfigure --apt returned an error code (29) E: Failure running script /usr/sbin/dpkg-preconfigure --apt Does anyone know what this means, and how I might fix it? thanks Alan -- Běonn caora dhubh ar an trčad is gile.
