You can run X with 'video=ofonly', at least on an Old World, but you can't reset screen resolution and i think you have to make sure that the screen depth in the XF86Config matches what OpenFirmware/MacOS sets it to. It's a pain having to boot into MacOS just to change the screen resolution or pixel depth (and in the latter case, update the relevant files, as well). MOL will work with 'video=ofonly', but it's even more picky about matching screen parameters, especially on a virtual terminal. Do note that (when i tried it last month) X 4.0.x seems to get confused about the color map (or something like that) on a 9500, which is why i'm not currently running Testing or Unstable. -- Tovar
