hmmm, have you checked the cable? could be a bad cable. Also what about the hub/switch you're plugging into? Bad port or the card could be auto-detecting the wrong mode (going into full duplex when the hub is only half-duplex)

Subject: Re: problems realtek 8139 ?

mine works fine in a UMax C500. I have an AOpen card using the 8139c
chipset. I used the 8139too driver rather than the older realtek driver.
and my kernel is newer.

Driver:
Apr 14 06:39:15 mojo kernel: eth0: 8139too FastEthernet driver 0.9.14-2.2
Jeff Garzik <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

uname -a:
Linux mojo 2.2.19pre17 #1 Sat Mar 17 11:00:00 CST 2001 ppc unknown

i tried with both drivers the rtl8139 and the 8139too, with both of them i
have the same problems, ...
really a lot of errors

          RX packets:889 errors:200 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:826 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:3 carrier:0

what can be the problem with this ??

i have tried it with two card (a no-brand one and an accton SMC 1211 TX )

any idea what i can check what might be the cause of these problems
i am using 2.2.18pre21

it is strange that the errors are only on RX ?

any idea or help is welcome

bruno
