IIRC it drops the resource forks. First you need to convert the file to
MacBinary.
It really _is_ all ugly. And I wouldn't worry too much about it. Having
the BootX files in BinHex format should be enough to get them onto the CD,
or onto a Mac HFS partition from Linux.
