Hi again... I am a little confused by the X packages and the dependencies. This is the list of what I see using dselect:
> Required packages in section x11 This section does not even exist. It would be a good thing if it would. > Updated Optional packages in section devel > *** xlib6g-dev 3.3.6-11 4.0.1-9 > Updated Optional packages in section libs > *** xlib6g 3.3.6-11 4.0.1-9 > Updated Optional packages in section x11 > *-- task-x-window-system-core 1.2 2.2 > *** twm 3.3.6-11 4.0.1-8 > *** xbase-clients 3.3.6-11 4.0.1-8 > *** xfonts-100dpi 3.3.6-2 4.0.1-9 > *** xfonts-75dpi 3.3.6-2 4.0.1-9 > *** xfonts-base 3.3.6-2 4.0.1-9 > **_ xfonts-cyrillic 3.3.6-2 4.0.1-9 > *** xfonts-scalable 3.3.6-2 4.0.1-9 > *** xfree86-common 4.0.1-7 4.0.1-9 > *** xnest 3.3.6-11 4.0.1-8 > *** xserver-common 3.3.6-11 4.0.1-8 > *** xserver-fbdev 3.3.6-11 3.3.6-11pot > *-_ xsm 3.3.6-11 3.3.6-11pot > *** xterm 3.3.6-11 4.0.1-8 > *** xvfb 3.3.6-11 4.0.1-8 > Up-to-date Optional packages in section x11 > *-- xcontrib 3.3.3.1-0.1 3.3.3.1-0.1 > *-- xmanpages 3.3.6-2 3.3.6-2 (where are the new ones?) > Available Optional packages in section devel > _* xlibmesa-dev <none> 4.0.1-8 > _* xlibosmesa-dev <none> 4.0.1-8 > ** xlibs-dev <none> 4.0.1-8 > Available Optional packages in section libs > ** libxaw6 <none> 4.0.1-8 > ** libxaw7 <none> 4.0.1-8 > _* libmesa3 <none> 4.0.1-8 > _* libosmesa3 <none> 4.0.1-8 > ** xlibs <none> 4.0.1-8 > Available Optional packages in section x11 > __ lbxproxy <none> 4.0.1-8 > __ proxymngr <none> 4.0.1-8 > __ xbooks <none> 4.0.1-8 > ** xfonts-pex <none> 4.0.1-9 > ** xfs <none> 4.0.1-8 > __ xfs-xtt <none> 1.3.0.1-12 > __ xfwp <none> 4.0.1-8 > ** xprt <none> 4.0.1-8 > ** xserver-xfree <none> 4.0.1-8 > ** xspecs <none> 4.0.1-9 > ** xutils <none> 4.0.1-8 Considering that there does not seem to exist a single x11-root package, and that there are only 5400 packages, looking for all the relevant files is a job on its own. Are the above ones all and only those that one needs? What happened to xcontrib and xmanpages? Friendly, Sergio
