On i386, i noticed that reiserfs (the 2.4.0-test8 kernel version) sometimes loose the file after a system crash. I noticed this will writing a Xfree 4 driver, which in two occassion froze the kernel, maybe locking up the bus or something like that. I don't know if the same thing apply to power failures ? Maybe trying to get an UPS should be easier on your disks ? Friendly, Sven Luther
