Chances are, if a click is coming out of your speakers and it sounds like a discharge, you have a short or some physical problem w/ the sound system; ie. you need to do some hardware replacement. It is possible that some sound is trying to play that sounds like a click or some sound is getting cut off..... the easiest way to check might be to boot up off of a cd (esp a MacOS cd) and see if the sound persists....
