That's what I meant by "I can only set it to 8" - if I use 16, 24 or
32 in XF86Config, startx doesn't start X.
I'm guessing that the huge virtual screensize is automatically chosen
to "use" all of the video-ram, but I'd rather use it for colourdepth :-)
