Last night. I did a net install, using first the base image (etc) from the http debian site in the us (question: isn't it a bit strange that the only recognized protocol at this stage of the installation is http, when all the mirrors are ftp?), then I got the packages from a local Swiss mirror (switch, the other does not (yet?) carry the powerpc stuff). So I should have downloaded and used the most recent installer. Cyril
