Positively 166 (or 167?!). It's a big icky module that looks IBM
specific, perhaps specific to only this model of RS/6000 (F40) - even if
IBM still sells it, I'm sure it'll cost lots :-(

Speaking of expensive IBM parts, is it possible that the board can use
regular PC dimms? (FYI, the box has 1996 written all over it)

I finally got into "SMS" (i.e. BIOS) by searching comp.unix.aix and
finding the F1/F5 keys... The not-really-PS2 port is a tablet, the
strange ISA card is a 128 port asynchronous adapter, and 3 of the 4 drives
are in hardware raid!

I'd like to know whether the 128 port controller is supported in Linux,
anyone?

Ah, so this may be a PReP machine? This is the sort of information I was
looking for in my second question...

I guess I'll try booting a floppy or two, and then go actually read the
install.txt ;P

It is running AIX 4.something (exact version scrolls by too fast in the
little xconsole window during boot)... Too bad I don't have any of the AIX
installation media - I'd really like to check out AIX before trashing it
for Debian.

I find it very impressive that X loads early during init and most of the
boot messages scroll through the xconsole window.
