I've updated http://master.debian.org/~porter with documentation. It walks through the install, discusses booting/firmware issues for newbies, and lists known bug and caveats. I'll put up an ISO image I'm using internally in the near future and update the boot and resc images with the latest fixes to handle IDE and systems with legacy interrupt problems.
