I switched the machine I'm working on for a friend over from RedHat without too much difficulty once it was pointed out that I needed a different kernel. Though I didn't really do it "in-place" since I cannibalized an existing swap partition. > Try to compile it on your own. If it's not in main but in experimental > it won't be compiled regularily. Apt is in main now. Are there known problems? It would definitely be nice to have my friend start with apt rather than the older methods.
