Ive had this same thing on my ibook dual usb, but its power socket is in bad shape and i have to wiggle it alot to actually get power to the ibook. strangely the light is still on.
i wrecked my original yoyo and just recently bought a brand spankiung new power supply from apple (see apple store)
the power light on the charger for my old ibook clamshell worked correctly. ie the light was on when power was going into the computer and the color indicated the charge state appropriately.
