So is it a SCSI disk, or is it a USB-to-IDE adapter (which the kernel presents as an emulated SCSI disk)? If it is a USB-to-IDE adapter, bear in mind that they don't always support operations beyond simple reads and writes (such as SMART). -- - Charles Lepple
