I have the same problem too.
My audio is configured. Xmms works fine.
I have this modules loaded:

some documentations suggest to load snd-powermac
but with my kernel Linux version 2.4.27-powerpc ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (version gcc 3.3.4 (Debian 1:3.3.4-9)) #1 ven sep 3 09:34:51 CEST 2004
I get # modprobe snd-powermac modprobe: Can't locate module snd-powermac
I suppose Alsa should be installed and configured.
