i downloaded the sarge files and the boot.img and the root.img. i read the instructions on making the floppies, but i have hit a wall. on my only other computer, i have a dual-booting XP and fedora. i cannot figure out a way to get into DOS (f8 doesnt work), so i tried to copy the floppies using fedora.
dd if=file of=/dev/fd0 bs=1024 conv=sync ; sync above is the instruction from the install manual; the floppy drive on my fedora is /mnt/floppy, which i used instead of /dev/fd0...however, that command didnt work - the error message said 'floppy is a directory'.....(please keep in mind that i am a linux novice) ithen tried the 'cp' command, and the file was shown on the floppy, but i am sure it didnt do a 'raw' write like it should have... can anyone help me out??
