Package: debian-policy Severity: wishlist Please explicitly state in the Policy if linking /usr/share/doc/arch:any_package to ../arch:all_package (where arch:any_package and arch:all_package come from the same source package) is allowed or not.
In other words: please specify if ${source:Version} is sufficient for dependency between such packages, or if ${binary:Version} (which breaks binNMUs) needs to be used instead. See the following bugs for background: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=747141 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=766711 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=766795 In my opinion, as I wrote in #766711, footnote [116] allows such linking, as it seems to refer to source version of a package.
