Did ubuntu have to modify the default package manager (synaptic,
right?) in order to allow the user to install the ddebs locally? I
would be interested in the details of how to hook up to the debug
packages archive in Ubuntu (I shall try installing an Ubuntu virtual
machine this weekend to try this out).

I would also like to learn of the coverage Ubuntu managed to
achieve, given that they have full deployment. What is the percentage of
packages they managed to auto create? This is indeed very valuable
information, I am surprised no one has been mentioning any figures at
all about this full deployment in Ubuntu.
