Would "Tools from NCBI" be any better?

Thanks, though I'm very much open to suggestions on this point.

Feel free.

Meanwhile, it may be worth noting that the programs in the blast2 and
ncbi-tools-bin packages are all non-interactive command-line
applications at heart, but built on top a framework that allows them to
request their options via a single dialog box when invoked suitably[1].
As such, I have given them all menu entries on principle, but could be
convinced to do otherwise.

[1] With NCBI's "Vibrant" GUI library preloaded; the libvibrant6
package contains a wrapper script that accomplishes this.
