Some authors may not WANT their email in the package description. At
least one of my upstreams would probably shoot me if I tried that.
(Even on his own web page, his address is only available as a GIF.)

IMO, any "best practices" recommendation should recommend NOT posting
ANYONE'S email address in any public place unless the owner of the
address has OK'd it.

"Author" is a bit of a misnomer. There may be a team of authors,
and/or the actual author may no longer be the upstream maintainer.

Ditto for this: some packages may have only an ftp: URI, which doesn't
exactly qualify as a "homepage", IMO. But my objections to this are
much milder.
