Software in main that is damaged or defective should be fixed or removed. Surely we've got better things to do than waste time and energy fixing things that fundamentally aren't broken. (Consider the amount of time changing the name "non-US" to anything else would use up on the part of ftpmasters (changing the archive and archive management software), developers (reuploading every non-US package with all the instances of non-US replaced with whatever new name is decided upon -- which will be needed to ensure autobuilding works), and users (fixing apt repositories), and then compare it to the benefit (possibly propogating a nebulous sense of dissatisfaction with some laws)).
