Hm, I should have read the full proposal I guess :( Some of the mentioned package names in the proposal are quite bogus though: * libgtrans-mysql-3-23 Looks like a library for mysql3.23, not version 3-23 or so. Proper package name should then be libgtrans-mysql3.23 * libgtrans-postgresql-6-5-3 Same as above, should be libgtrans-postgresql6.5.3 * libid3-3.7-13 * libmath3d-0.3-0 I don't see where those numbers come from or why they are useful. The idea of seperating the ABI version (bit more general then soname) from the packagename with a - is indeed useful.
