Package: debian-policy Version: 3.5.2.0 Severity: wishlist In my opinion, the example for creating a directory under /usr/local is slightly misleading. As the default umask for root is 022, plain mkdir will result in a directory which is not group-writable. I think the example should state 'mkdir -m2775 -p' instead.
I know the suggested permissions are explicitly stated a bit later, but I think copy-pasting an example is something one does more often than thinking things through. No offense. At least python{,2}-base seems to suffer from this. -- Tommi Komulainen [EMAIL PROTECTED] GPG 1024D/68388EE6 6FD6 DD79 EB38 BF6F 3533 09C0 04A8 9871 6838 8EE6
