I was seeking to have what I thought was policy enforced, not to propose a new policy. My recollection was that parallel version numbers were mentioned as policy by Christian Schwarz last spring. It is apparent that either my memory is faulty or the policy group suffers from collective selective amnesia. Since the latter is unlikely, it must be my memory at fault.
