Install one of the new emacsen which depend on emacsen-common, and then take a look at /usr/doc/emacsen-common/debian-emacs-policy.gz. It'll explain what's going on these days. The general approach now is for emacsen to byte-compile .el files at install time. This policy document was written after several long exchanges on debian-policy a while back. -- Rob Browning <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> PGP fingerprint = E8 0E 0D 04 F5 21 A0 94 53 2B 97 F5 D6 4E 39 30 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
