That doesn't seem "simple" to me. I agree that this would be a more elegant solution, but it would also require a lot of effort from the maintainers of games with an option to edit levels. A "gamesadmin" group would be a much simpler solution. I don't think it is overkill to add this group. It is just one group and it would serve all games that need to differentiate between the average mortal game-playing user and someone with more rights and powers. The alternative (besides rewriting a lot of games) is to run games as root. I don't want that and I don't think you are trying to advocate it either. Cheers, Joost
