That sounds excellent. I've always been a bit wary about the "install and start everything at once" approach taken by Debian. >update-rc.d will read that config file, and do everything needed. >this will also allow to say "don't register, i want to have manual >control over daemons !". OK. What my code currently does is to check for the presence of a startup file for the current runlevel, and then call it if it's present, AFTER update-rc.d has been run.
