Dear Maintainer, I have a Debian testing system with pipewire as jack replacement, which worked without any problem with all kinds of audio software -- and, for most part (ardour, stand-alone synths...), still does. After a recent upgrade, however, qtractor (0.9.36, i. e. the latest version from testing) started to behave strangely: the GUI window comes up, an I still can click menu items, toolbar buttons etc., but the mouse cursor stays in busy mode, and the applications seems to fail to connect to the audio system. For instance, qtractor's mixer doesn't show any audio buses, and qtractor won't show up in qpwgraph. The cause of the problem is probably the recent introduction of pipewire 1.0.0 into testing. In fact, qtractor's upstream commit log mentions one commit (d2d9fa9a), tagged with "Fixed an ancient hack on session init to wait to JACK service start up, which hang up while on pipewire-jack >= 1.0.0 (EXPERIMENTAL)".
