Dear Maintainer, The mpv (or possibly libav*) version provided in Debian was capable of playing directly from SMB shares in the past. This is no longer possible, instead I get error messages similar to this one: [ffmpeg] Protocol not found. Make sure ffmpeg/Libav is compiled with networking support. Failed to open smb://server/share/file.mkv I'm not sure when this stopped working, but it means I can no longer play media files on SMB shares directly from a file manager. I tried with both libavformat58 and libavformat-extra58, but neither worked. libsmbclient is installed. Please consider fixing this regression. Perhaps it's a dependency issue in mpv, caused by moving SMB support into libavformat-extra?
