Note that the requested amount of memory is exactly 65534*65534*4. And this size is exactly twice the maximum screen size: 32767*32767. The screen size is not an exact power of two, so this would be an odd coincidence. I don't know if the bug is rather in shotcut or in Qt. Or maybe in the way they interact.
