Dear list, I'm in the process of packaging opencpn. One of it's dependencies is libwxsvg which has a history in the multimedia group and thus needs to be resurrected here. My idea is to maintain that package within the group.
I have subscribed to the debian-multimedia mailing list and a have a salsa account. I have been maintaining packages in Fedora since long. In Debian I maintain the lirc package (+ some deps) which actually is non-trivial. I undertook this because I suffered as upstream from the too old Debian package. The lirc maintenance has been done using sponsors on mentors.debian.net. Lately, I have been working with opencpn. As clearly demonstrated in [2] I have a lot to learn - I wouldn't describe myself as an experienced packager. Hopefully I could learn, though. If required, I could certainly review the work of others. As of now, I would need someone looking over my shoulder in that case. If there are questions, this is the place to ask...
