The URL you mentioned is playable directly by mpv itself (without youtube-dl), but usually mpv will invoke youtube-dl first to detect various other URLs. The "--no-ytdl" option will always work because it bypasses the buggy code in the youtube-dl hook. I tested it with upstream git and it looks like this is fixed. James
