In case anyone on this list isn't yet subscribed to pkg-multimedia-maintainers on alioth[0] there has been some discussion of starting to have regular irc meetings to coordinate packaging efforts. It's been proposed to have it on #debian-multimedia. There is a doodle poll[1] for choosing a meeting date and time and a page in the wiki for adding agenda items[2].
