I hope I didn't spoil the party now... Clearly it wasn't upstreams intention to leave this text in the soundfont and as you already pointed out, the relicensing notice in debian/copyright and in the README file tells another story than this text does. However, it still IMHO is better to get this fixed now, than to get problems with it later on, when it may be too late to get it fixed before Debian Lenny is released.
