Package: audacity Version: 1.3.3-1+b1 Followup-For: Bug #401368 In fact, the problem (which still exists) seems to be caused by audacity outputting NUL bytes at the start of the files it produces. In all the examples I've seen, it's 417 zero bytes. Removing them (e.g. with mp3check) makes the files recognised fine by programs such as file and id3.
