I made several different attempts to install lirc, but with no avail. As I am not fully aware which information may be relevant to the problem, I enclose only the log fragments of my attempts to create modules automatically with dpkg-reconfigure lirc-modules-source.
I will be only too happy to provide additional information on request. I am looking forward to any comments and suggestions.
