Perhaps you should add the directory containing `opencv.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable No package 'opencv' found not found configure: error: opencv is required. apt-file search opencv.pc libopencv-dev: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pkgconfig/opencv.pc so maybe the second dependency (alternative) is simply wrong as you said :) cheers, G.
