Since it is a java package, "fits-java" or > "libfits-java" (the same as your library package) would IMO fit better. Concerning the short and misleading name of the source package, I completely agree with you. If I correctly understand the Debian Policy for Java, Java lib packages must be named libXXX[<version>]-java, where the version part is optional and XXX is the source package name (something w/o "-java" at the end). Moreover, I noted there is already a package named "cfitsio3" in stable, so maybe a better name for my package would be "jfits" => "libjfits-java" or "jfitsio" => "libjfitsio-java". > > * Since the original code is under PD, would you consider to put the > Debian package under a less restrictive license than GPL? I sent a mail to debian-legal to ask which license should be chosen for debian/* in case the sources are in the public domain. > > * I would announce the ITP also in the debian-java mailing list, and > also ask for review and sponsorship in all three lists (mentors, > science, java). > > Cheers > > Ole > > Cheers, Florian -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-mentors-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
