So, basically, Jonathan was right [0] from the start suggesting to completely remove the -dev package (and all the files it installed), right? Anyway, I re-uploaded with the patch suggested by Jonathan (I fixed the "too early LD_PRELOAD") and without the *.la and *.a files as Paul pointed out.
