My motivation for maintaining this package is: This is a great app, used by me and my colleagues to create equations for OpenOffice presentations and web-sites. In our opinion this is the most conveniant way to put equations into your presentations. It also becomes handy when writing publications: you can prototype the equations, and cut and paste the formula into your tex document, what safes a lot of compile time.
